Both cordyceps and shiitake mushrooms have properties that can slow down blood clotting and lower blood sugar levels. Taking them together might increase the risk of bruising or bleeding, and could potentially cause your blood sugar to drop too low.

These mushrooms have 'additive' effects. This means they work in similar ways: both contain compounds that can prevent platelets (blood cells) from sticking together to form clots, and both can increase insulin sensitivity or mimic insulin's effect on blood sugar.
